The History of Thanksgiving

The origins of Thanksgiving date back to 1621 when the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Native Americans shared a three-day feast to celebrate a successful harvest. This event is commonly recognized as the "First Thanksgiving." However, it wasn't until 1863, during the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday, to be observed annually.

Over the years, Thanksgiving has evolved, but the core values of gratitude and togetherness remain the same.

Empowering Community Living:

Presenting New Housing Vision for Barkhamsted. At a recent town meeting in Barkhamsted, Lifecare Design's Principal Architect presented an exciting new vision for a 20-unit housing development spread across four acres. This project, championed by the housing authority, is a much-needed addition for the Barkhamsted community, designed to offer options for residents to remain in the town they cherish as their housing needs evolve.

Kudos to Barkhamsted for initiating such a forward-thinking project!

Exploring the Evolution of Eco-Friendly Architecture

Eco-friendly architecture, also known as sustainable architecture, has its roots in ancient building practices.
