Goodwin Park was a large park in desparate need of a face lift and compliance with ADA regulations. A new playground was laid out in a way that allows handicap accessibility to and from new accessible parking. The playground equipment was integrated with retaining wall blocks to create a ramp, that with childlike imagination could transform into a fortress. A mini Amphitheater makes good use of a natural slope and shade trees. A second phase will address the entry to the park from the busy Maple Ave/Brown St. intersection.
