Pope Park West opened on September 15th 2011 with an official ribbon cutting with the Honorable Mayor Pedro E. The pathways are shaping up, we’re using basalt processed stone from a local quarry and most of the existing lanscaping which is naturally aclimated to the environment and will not need fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or sprinklers…..a plus for the parks and rec maintenance crew.

This video shows what was once part of Pope Park, (divided by i-84 around 50 years ago) and has since deteriorated into wasteland. So this is the before picture. The next video should show some improvement as we transform 2 acres into a passive sustainable park.
